Sarona - Sarona, Tel Aviv,

It’s Hacktoberfest 2018!
We are delighted to invite you to Sharanab’s first open source Metaf, which aims to introduce young people to the world of code and open to the community!

A quick introduction to open source
Most of the open source is hosted on GitHub, based on the Git software, which helps manage projects of any kind in an efficient and safe manner. Each project is called “repository” (or repo briefly), and any change or update in the project is called “commit”. When you want to contribute and improve a project that is not ours, we need to open a “Pull Request” (PR), which is simply a request to the project managers to take the change (comets) and put them into the project itself.
When the code of any software (eg website, computer / phone application, etc.) is open, anyone can fix a problem that bothers him with the software, add a missing feature or just read the code and learn from it.

What is Hacktoberfest at all?
Hacktoberfest is an online event organized by DigitalOcean, Github and Twilio, which is designed to support the open source community. In this event everyone can get a shirt and an exclusive pack of stickers (FREE!) If he opens 5 Pull Requests in any project that interests him.

So what’s the hitup thing?
We saw that there was not even a sit-in of the actoferpost in Israel, and we wanted to do a first mitep in Israel in order to get to know the open source field for other people and promote it.

A little about our guest lecturer –
