40 years of the masterpiece “Plonter”
“Cain and Abel 90210” Salute to Fortis!
January 1978. The conservative Israelis of the seventies still do not know that they are about to receive “Plonter,” the premiere album of Rami Fortis (together with Haim Romano and Sami Birnbach). After him, music in Israel will no longer sound the same. The Israelis accept it with a certain coolness, perhaps because they can not properly digest the songs “Hador Hazeh”, “spoiled everyone” or “measure me tonight,” but over the years this moving album receives its proper status and becomes a cult album. Songs such as “Sun,” “Get off my television screen” and “Death is not out of work” become hysterical and eternal hits. There is no music lover in today’s Israel who is not crazy about “Plonter.” Rock historians describe him as one of the most important albums ever released, if not the most important.
