A bit about me and the exhibition:

My name is Shiran Sapir, but at home everyone calls me Papuni, and I’m a “Latchkey child”.
Both of my parents were working long hours, and my older siblings left home at a young age so I returned home from school to an empty house every day. For me not feel lonely, every morning before going to work, my father set up the lunch table for me, one person, and left me a note inside a glass cup. The notes described the lunch menu waiting for me, combining funny, strange, touching stories. The notes became the main thing I was waiting for as I came back from school.
In the exhibition, I will present sixteen notes from the many notes he wrote to me over the years. Alongside these notes are illustrations that describe the reality in the kitchen, then develop into different, imaginary and fun worlds that existed with my parents if they were there with me at lunch.

See you there! 🙂
