Udi Appelboim from Concerto and Guy Beser & Shay MorYosef from Bluestone Group and it’s daughter company Live Nation, proudly present the return to Israel of THE ORCHESTRA Starring Former Members of ELECTRIC LIGHT ORCHESTRA between 1973 and 1986 in a show that has attracted millions around the world for over 2 decades.

On the special occasion of the 40th anniversary of the DISCOVERY album, THE ORCHESTRA Starring Former Members of ELECTRIC LIGHT ORCHESTRA will hold two special performances during the first Monday and Tuesday of February 2019. The show will celebrate many of ELO’s greatest hits of all time.

As part of the 40th anniversary celebration of the album, and for the first time outside the US, all 8 members of THE ORCHESTRA Starring Former Members of ELECTRIC LIGHT ORCHESTRA will arrive in Israel for a performance that will include all the Greatest ELO Hits.

Electric Light Orchestra, or ELO, was the band famously labeled “The Beatles’ Sons,” by John Lennon. ELO has sold more than 100 million copies worldwide and won a host of prestigious awards. The band was founded by Jeff Lynne and Roy Wood in 1971 and operated until 1986 in different ensembles.

In order to give a classic touch to their songs, band members of THE ORCHESTRA Starring Former Members of ELECTRIC LIGHT ORCHESTRA play string instruments such as cellos and violins.

Between 1973 and 1986, ELO sold over 50 million copies worldwide and won no less than seven gold or platinum albums in the US, six of them in succession.

On May 31, 1979, the band released its 8th album, DISCOVERY, one of the most popular albums of all time, in which the band experimented with roots in Disco. DISCOVERY is ELO’s first album that reached number one in the British charts and was on the move for five straight weeks.

From the album there were no less than 5 hits including “Last Train To London,” “Shine A Little Love,” “Don’t Bring Me Down, “Confusion,” and “Diary of Horace Wimp.”

The album was accompanied by videos for each song, with exceptional animation technology for the period. The song ‘Diary of Horace Wimp’ was a tribute to the Beatles’ song ‘A Day in The Life’. The album became huge success overnight. The vocal harmonies, the rich sound and the melodies that got stuck in everyone’s heads, placed them in the front row of rock and roll legends.

Another album of the band, ‘Time’, from 1981, combines contemporary electronic beats and classical string instruments with an innovative sound that has been phenomenally successful, which has led to a world tour. Four members of ELO continued to perform under the name ELO Part 2 until the turn of the Millennium.

Since 2000 they have been touring the world as THE ORCHESTRA Starring Former Members of ELECTRIC LIGHT ORCHESTRA
