Dudu Tasa and the Kuwaitis: Do not be so modest, you’re not that big
In April 2017, Dudu Tessa was invited to perform with Radiohead on tour across the United States. Dudu embarked on his life journey, accompanied by his “Kuwaiti” ensemble, a unique Jewish-Arab musical ensemble, with the singer Nasreen Kaddari and a camera that documented from his personal and intimate perspective this one-time event.
When his uncle succeeds in bringing back his Kuwaitis, grandfather and brother, his Iraqi grandfather, to their natural and appropriate place on the big stage, in front of a huge crowd from all over the world, this is a moving and meaningful moment for him. Alongside the great expectation, the fame and the excitement, the almost incomprehensible connection between Iraqi music and rock ‘n’ roll, performed by an Israeli singer and an Arab Muslim singer in the United States, emerges
