For nearly two months, dozens of volunteers from our wonderful community have been talking, thinking, building, writing, sculpting and creating a special reality that is expected to happen in a moment.
Contra Burn 2017 is a communal gathering in the format of camping for families and friends.
The event is based on the content and volunteer work of the members of the Midburn community and the participants of the event – creators, workers, participants and participants in the spirit of the ten principles.
All that is created and takes place in the event is the creation, construction, activity and participation of the participants themselves.
The event, which lasts 3 days, includes a common camping area where you can find: theme camps, art installations, music, self-expression space and a communal camping area.
At the end of the event, all the participants dismantle the array that is built and evacuate any material that does not belong to the place (back), so that the area and the environment will return to their previous state, or a better situation.
This year, after many discussions and the vote of most of the organizing staff, it was decided to try to create a special and experimental space in which:
1. There will be a safe and secure space for self expression and free presence by providing freedom from the kind of camera. For the first time in Israel, the participants will take part in a fascinating social experiment and participate in a free event from photography in the entire area of the Playa and the camps.
2. A special training department was not built, out of the belief that each of the members of the community participating in the event would be able to take care of himself and bring back the home leave he had brought home. (Yes, yes, home).
