Binat El Funk’s style is mainly based on the combination of funk with traditional Yemenite music, but influenced by many styles such as Afro-Beat, Mediterranean music , Jazz and Turkish psychedelic rock.
Alongside the Yemeni texts are also embedded love songs, political protest songs, Bedouin nonsense and poet songs.
Each performance soon turns into a tribal Indigenous party with sounds, rhythms, colors and smells that unite on the axis that connects Sana’a, Harlem and the Shaariya neighborhood of Petah Tikva.
