“Beyond Masks” Exhibition
In the last year, as a result of the COVID pandemic, we have experienced extreme changes in our lifestyle and habits through: lock-downs, social distancing, masks, and uncertainty.
The world of culture and art is experiencing a very big hit. For this reason we Beyond The Walls artists were determined that at the first opportunity we could, we would be setting up an exhibition reacting to this complex.
The theme of the exhibition “Beyond the Masks” came up naturally and was chosen by many votes of the group’s artists.
A mask is an item of clothing that covers part or all of the face. Since ancient times, masks have appeared in various works of art.
The mask appeared in the Middle Ages and the Renaissance as a negative representation of hiding the truth, or as a hiding place.
“Beyond the Masks” is an exhibition born of the change we had to become used to, and it will express what is under the masks.
The Beyond The Walls community is made up of street and graffiti artists, with the goal of creating a community-based movement through groups of people in different sectors and fields, uniting people to drive and change and improve our society. The change will be made through art projects throughout the community where artists work both together and independently.
We are proud to be hosted in ‘The Social Space’ at 168 Hayarkon Street, Tel Aviv, which today is a social and explanatory center for the benefit of the diverse communities in the city of Tel Aviv.
Opening on Tuesday 20.4.2021 at 20.00

תערוכת “מעבר למסכות”
השנה האחרונה שחווינו כתוצאה ממגיפת הקורונה גרמה לנו לשינויים בהרגלי החיים שהתבטאו ב: סגרים, ריחוק חברתי, מסכות ואי ודאות.
עולם התרבות והאמנות חווה פגיעה גדולה מאוד. מסיבה זו אנו אמני Beyond The Walls היינו נחושים כי בהזדמנות הראשונה שנוכל, אנחנו נרים תערוכה המתקשרת לשנה מורכבת זו עבור כולנו.
נושא התערוכה “מעבר למסכות” עלה באופן טיבעי ונבחר ברב קולות על ידי אמני הקבוצה.
מסכה היא פריט לבוש, המכסה חלק מן הפנים או את כולם.
מאז העת העתיקה מופיעות מסכות ביצירות אמנות שונות. המסכה הופיעה בימי הביניים וברנאסנס כיצוג שלילי כמסתירה את האמת והעומד מאחוריה, או ששימשה למסתור.
“מעבר למסכות” הינה תערוכה שנולדה מתוך השינוי שנאלצנו להתרגל אליו, והיא תבטא את שמתחת למסכות .
קהילת Beyond The Walls מורכבת מאמני רחוב וגרפיטי, כאשר המטרה היא ליצור תנועה מבוססת קהילה באמצעות קבוצות של אנשים במגזרים ובתחומים שונים כשתאחד את האנשים לכונן ולשנות ולשפר את החברה שלנו. השינוי יתבצע באמצעות פרויקטים אמנותיים במרחבי הקהילה בהם האמנים פועלים הן יחדיו והן באופו עצמאי.
אנחנו גאים להתארח ב’מרחב החברתי’ שברחוב הירקון 168 תל אביב, שכיום מהווה מרכז חברתי והסברתי לטובת הקהילות המגוונות אשר בעיר תל אביב.
