There is something powerful and evokes conflicting feelings of amazement and unrest in the sculptures of Avner Levinson. Not only does he manage to put abnormal movement and emotional intensities into the inanimate clay, but despite the raw, and even to some extent gross, outline of his works – there is also something subtle, sensitive and poignant about them. A kind of paradox of power and vulnerability, movement and statics, concrete and abstract, physical and mental that resonate with them – as if from an open wound that continues to bleed.

יש משהו עוצמתי ומעורר תחושות סותרות של השתאות ואי-שקט בפסליו של אבנר לוינסון. לא רק שהוא מצליח להכניס תנועה ועוצמות רגש אבנורמליות לתוך החימר הדומם, אלא ולמרות הגולמיות, ואפילו במידה מסויימת הגסות, של קווי המתאר של יצירותיו – יש בהן גם משהו מעודן, רגיש ומכמיר לב. סוג של פרדוקסליות של עוצמה ופגיעות, תנועה וסטטיות, קונקרטיות ואבסטרקטיות, פיזיות ונפשיות שמהדהדות מהן – כאילו מתוך פצע פתוח שממשיך לדמם.
