Sat 7 September 2019 | 9:30 pm - 11:30 pm
Hangar 11 - יורדי הסירה 1, Tel Aviv,

On Saturday night we will be hosting a host of different think & drink sessions at Hangar 11 at the Tel Aviv Port, a special evening and the first of its kind to bring together Amit Segal and Professor Yoram Yovel, two sharp minds from different fields who will talk about politics and the hidden motives behind our political decisions.

On thenet, on television, at work, on Friday meals, even on vacation, wherever we are, everyone talks about politics.

But why? Why is it so important to us to deal with elections and politics? Why is it important for us to define ourselves as ‘left’ or ‘right’? Do we really have the ability to influence whether the slogan that ‘every voice determines’ is correct? If not, why is politics so significant for us?
In general, what is the source of our political views? Head or stomach? Or maybe the house? Is it possible to change political positions? And can psychological research answer these questions?

Think and Drink Different invite you to a fascinating conversation about politics, the psychology behind our political decisions, and with two of the country’s sharpest minds; Prof. Yoram Yovel and Amit Segal. The evening will be hosted by Dr. Jeremy Fogel of the Department of Jewish Philosophy at Tel Aviv University and Advisor podcast of Think & Drink Different.

Amit Segal is a journalist, radio personality and television. Serves as a political commentator on Channel 12.
Prof. Yoram Yovel is a psychoanalyst, psychiatrist and neuroscientist. In addition to his work Yuval is the moderator of the interview program “Mental Talk” on television and has written popular books in Hebrew, including “Surah Nefesh” and “What Is Love.”

The meeting will begin at 21:30, opening doors at 19:30
