Adis Ken (new day) is the name of the new and full project of the saxophonist and singer Abate Berihon, one of the greatest musicians of Ethiopian origin working in Israel . Together with pianist Roi Mor, bassist David Michaeli and drummer Nitzan Birnbaum, he brings to the foreground original compositions combined with Jewish-Ethiopian soul music that has been passed down from generation to generation and ancient and mysterious texts. The result is an exciting encounter between ancient Ethiopian traditions and the legacy of a modern jazz ensemble steeped in musical adventure, deep groove and blues.
