The event was suddenly stopped by the Police saying that the neighbors complained about the noise. They pull the plug on the event, and the police man who came to disburse the event wore gloves to protect them from HIV.
20 years later, the Israel AIDS Task Force in partnership with Tel-Aviv Municipality and the Gay center, and Funded by the Europian Union and The kingdom of the Netherlands we are proud to present the Annual Wigstock Event – a celebration of Drag Performances, to mark 20 years since that event and celebrate the ever growing partnership with the local authorities.
