Enough of the boys for now, let’s have a girls night out! The Tel Aviv gay vibe would never be the same without the übercool women around. This week Tel Aviv’s leading lesbian lady will be our guide to check out the chicks at their bests: at her favorite places to dine, drink, chill… and much more.
In the White City veryone knows Dana Ziv – as she is the mind behind some of Tel Aviv’s most inspiring lesbian events, with her business partner, Anat Nir. Lethal Lethal Lesbian Film Festival, Sound Sister women’s concert, and the Miss Kittin and Peaches shows in Israel are just some of the very special parties they brought us.
Not to forget MOTHER festival, an international „women in music and art“ bash. Dana – now a mother of a baby girl – has organized brunches, lunches, dinners, dances and contemporary balls for over ten years now, and by seeing how creative and spirited she is it seems like she’s never gonna stop.
Artistic coffee break
Photographer, Aline Lev Har’s Sheleg, on Gelula Street 44 is a cool cafe with fresh food and mixed crowd – musicians, social figures, queers, artie neighbors, serious artists, and tourists – everyone is there.
Someone will always let you know about the most exciting events, most amazing exhibitions, and best selling ance shows. Oh, yeah, and you can see the beach in the end of the street!
Dine with the grown ups
Time for a not-so-casual dinner: Joz ve Loz Restaurant on Yehuda Ha’levi 51, and it’s women owners run gay-super-friendly place, serving a meal on their a breathtaking outdoor space.
Thursdays are the most special days: come and enjoy the inspiring company of the more mature women. Serious conversations, lot’s of wine, easy listening…
For moaning Mondays
Working gals still wanna have fun: 7-11 is an early bar nigh at Gilda, A’had A’am street. DJ Rey Harel has a disco ball effect on everyone.
It’s the place for super-pop, trashy electric and corny oldies as well, and the dance-list is often spiced up with a jazz standard or and burlesque surprise. Not to mention the bar’s „Mad Man“-like design. Swell, baby!
Work it on Wednesdays
Shpagat Banot – stance of the boys – is quite a gay-chauvinistic name for a place, but we can’t say the guys and the girls don’t get along. My favorite gay bar, Shpagat on Nachalat Binyamin hosts a weekly lesbian party on Wednesdays.
Get yourself out of the midweek crisis, and into the night. Collect all the party fliers and event invitations what the promoters are handing you: this is the place to get to know, what’s next!
Shana Tova, Ladies!
If honey and apple are not enough to sweeten your holiday, party at the main event for Israel’s women. Mega Shana will be taking place in Comfort 13 club, on the 26th of September, kicking off at 10.30 PM.
Six amazing DJs will spin the records – Maya Jakobson, Dj Shaked Dudovich, DJ Tami Bibring, ellyott, Dj Winnie Pootz, Neriah Levin, topped with Yael Deckelbaum LIVE MC on DJ. Press the “attending” button if you are ready for the ladies night.
