In light of the upcoming 48th Jerusalem Day, designer Ron Nadel is launching a new series of prints dedicated to the Israeli capital. The series is a continuation of Nadel’s popular Tel Aviv series, which has sold thousands of copies worldwide. The prints, which were designed over the course of a year, include six iconic Jerusalem sites that capture the youthful and colorful essence of the city; Tower of David, Israel Museum, the Knesset, The Montefiore Windmill, Church of Holy Sepulchre and the Western Wall, Temple Mount.

Nadel, 34 years old, is a graduate from the Bezalel Academy of Arts and Design in Jerusalem. As an artist and a graphic designer, he dedicates his work to studying the fabric of the Israeli society as it is portrayed in the many architectural styles that coexist in the small country.

“The series is a young and fresh take on Jerusalem’s regal and formal aesthetic,” explains Nadel. “The prints delicately integrate the contrasting characteristics of Israel’s two major cities: innovation alongside tradition, youthfulness alongside sophistication, and the look towards the future of a 100-year-old city alongside the nostalgia of a city 3,000 years old one. The tension between the two styles has fascinated me ever since I was a child, when my Saturdays were split between spending time with my grandmother in Jerusalem and my grandparents in central Tel Aviv.”

The prints will be available from May 15, 2015. They can be purchased at Nadel’s website , as well as the design store Asufa in Jaffa’s Flee Market, the Tel Aviv Bauhaus Center [Dizengoff Street 99] and the store Gelada studio. A single print costs 250 NIS, a smaller set of all six prints costs 290 NIS, and a single postcard costs 10 NIS.

The launching event will take place on Thursday, May 14, 20.00 and will include a Jerusalem themed party and a sales exhibition from the new Jerusalem series and the known Tel Aviv series. The event will take place in the SAGA gallery on Rabbi Pinchas Street 4, Jaffa.
