It’s time to get spring and summer ready with Ginlee Studio. The independent fashion house, founded by Singaporean designer Gin Lee, is celebrated for its effortless aesthetic, feminine edge, and the ultimate goal of “making fashion matter” for wearers.
The Spring Summer 2017 collection follows suit, with delicately layered chiffon tees, subtly embroidered pajama-style shirts, and movable multi-directional pleat dresses that were inspired by artist Steven Meyers’ radiographic flora images.
In making the collection, Meyers’ images were x-ray scanned and creatively transposed into garments made from low maintenance fabrics with appropriately botanic names such as the Poppy Tee, the Ivy Dress, and the Lily Dress. The draped silhouettes skim the body—ebbing and flowing with each movement to strike the ideal balance between easy and elegant.
With interesting textile techniques such as digitally printed watercolor petals and washed out spring palettes of blush and pale blue, each piece has a dream-like quality that perfectly suits the balmy air and effervescent atmosphere of spring and summer.
