Winner of many awards, photographer Eyal Pinkas is full of creative ideas and will stop at nothing. Pinkas lives and works in Heidelberg and Tel Aviv and keeps his art focused around architectural subjects, working with many different shapes combined with nature itself, giving off very original ideas.
Recently, the artist made a photo montage of Crocs shoes. It is a fake Crocs shoe photographed in front of an architectural rendering. One can see the fake shoe floating with the background of a fake building. To Pinkas, this represents a pseudo-world which echoes itself. The work is called Genus which in Latin means family, and in the photographs, there are three shoes which symbolize the mother, father and child. This work corresponds with the artists ideas of the advertising world. In general, Pinkas doesn’t wish to critique what he sees around him, but to create a metaphor about the world we live in.
