Jerusalem bred and Columbia University trained, experimental artist Einat Amir has garnered an international reputation through decades-long intercontinental experience. Her work has been shown at prominent venues across the globe, including MOMA-PS1 New York, Palais Des Tokyo Paris, Maxxi Museum Rome, Istanbul Museum of Modern Art and the Tel Aviv Museum.
Focusing on video installation and interactive live performance, Amir works across various media and disciplines to “explore the possibilities inherent in everyday communication between people”.
Her cutting edge productions—with titles such as Enough About You and Our Best Intentions—seamlessly merge facets of visual art, music, theater and choreography. Her creations are born from a self-described “lab of emotional research”—combining improvised, real-time and pre-recorded elements that challenge viewers’ notions of interpersonal connections, public participation and social engagement.
