Hiro Ramen Bar by Aharoni

We have been struggling to make up our minds about Aharoni’s new ramen bar located in Sarona Market.

On one hand, the ramen is good, and it is great for a quick meal- especially now winter is approaching. The food is prepared really quickly and they have a great selection of small dishes and salads- the chicken wings in yakitori sauce are fingerlickingly good!

On the other hand, due to to the constant disorganised queue of people, the quick meal ends up being an hour long palaver. There is no host, meaning you just have to wait for seats whilst eyeing up neighbouring competitors until you are about 2cms away from the customers who are trying to enjoy their meal. Once you have finally acquired a seat, you have some other impatient person lingering behind you, so you feel the need to finish your ramen in one sip, whilst paying the bill. Not ideal!

We really hope they sort out this situation- either the buzz will subside and queues will shorten, or they will have to start writing down names on a waiting list. Once they have sorted it, we will be sure to return.

Top tip: Go alone or in a pair.
