Yes – mushrooms are on the agenda, but I am not hallucinating: Infected Mushroom will be celebrating their 20th anniversary with a huge, all-star concert on Thursday, April 21, 2016 at the Live Park Amphitheater in Rishon LeZion, produced by Zappa Group. This will be the first celebration of their 20th, with more to come, but this concert in Israel will be the ultimate!
Amit Duvdevani (Duvdev), Erez Eisen and producer Avi Yossef of Zappa Group met with the press in the atmospheric underground chambers of the Otto Bar in Tel Aviv to announce the concert.
Calling the upcoming concert a “musical carnival,” Avi Yossef said that the 4 hour long concert will be in three parts, a kind of overview of their 20 year musical career. Opening the concert will be the acoustic ‘Converting Vegetarians’ with guests Mayumana and Michele Adamson (soloist of Shpongle). This part of the evening will feature live instruments – piano, percussion, “anything that is not electronic” according to Yossef.
The second part will be a full band live show, Infected Mushroom as the world has come to know them over the past two decades, psychedelic trance and sophisticated electronica. Infected Mushroom has collaborated with many international artists over the years, including Jonathan David (Korn), Matisyahu, Lady Gaga, and Jane’s Addiction as well as leading Israeli bands and musicians. Duvdev explained that Matisyahu wanted to come to this concert but can’t make it because he is celebrating the Seder in Costa Rica this year and the timing made it impossible. However, there’s much to look forward to as a bevy of Infected Mushroom’s musical friends will be on hand: Berry Sakharof, Rami Fortis, Hadag Nachash, Hatikva 6 and JViewz.
The third part of the concert will be an ‘old school’ DJ set as Duvdev and Erez Eisen connect to their musical roots at the DJ stand with some great guests: Astrix, RIOT, Yahel and more surprises to come… this is the time to party!
Tickets go on sale this evening at 18:00! Ticket prices are 249 NIS, with the first 1,000 tickets offered at just 169 NIS. There is a special discount for soldiers (no time limit) with tickets at 139 NIS.
Unlike many large scale concerts there will be no VIP section, all tickets are equal. Or, as Duvdev said, “Everyone is a VIP.”
