Hanukkah is one of the most fun holidays in the Jewish calendar. Israelis celebrate with eight days of parties, candle-lightings, meetups, and of course donuts (sufganiyot in local lingo). Day 1 – Sunday 28/11

CANDLE LIGHTING – Light Up Tel Aviv with Chabad on the Coast @ Independence Park

TALKS – Pecha Kucha @ Habima (Sunday and Monday)

A night of creative inspiration! Pecha Kucha comes to Tel Aviv all the way from Tokyo to host the most interesting people and creations of the city. Next Monday and Tuesday, 9 exhibitors from all fields of art will give us a glimpse into their creative spaces and leave us wanting more. Gifted photographers, fashion designers, a voice in the local Ethiopian culture, Israel’s funniest and deepest comedian, 3D printing, illustrations, vegan designs, and a Toy Orchestra… The fascinating and unique evenings of art will bring together these creative minds on one stage! Day 2 – Monday 29/11

LIVE MUSIC – Alternative Hanukkah Festival @ Charles Bronfman Auditorium and Neve Tzedek (Monday till Wednesday)

The Alternative Jewish Festival offers a celebration of Hebrew Judaism, music and thought during three days on Hanukkah, between the synagogues of Neve Tzedek and the Hall of Culture in Tel Aviv. Read more.

LIVE MUSIC – Nigun Quartet @ Shablul Jazz Bar

Nigun is honored to return to the fabulous Shablul — one of Tel Aviv’s most prolific jazz clubs. Join us, sit back with a glass of wine, and let us take you on a journey to Hasidic jazz fusion land. HANUKKAH PARTY – Hanukkah Party @ Kerem House

PRIDE – The Winter Holidays Kiki Ball @ Neve Sha’anan

Get ready for the most unique, phenomenal phenomenon – Ballroom culture. Ballroom culture started in New York in the 60’s. It is a safe space that was especially made for and by those who felt unsafe and discriminated against in “the outside world” – in particular Black and Latin trans women who were the pioneers and founders of this culture. Ballroom is an underground scene where LGBTQ POC youth and adults are able to express themselves freely and compete for trophies and cash prizes. It has evolved and expanded over the years. These days ballroom is becoming more and more popular in mainstream and has spread to many different places around the globe, all the way to our little country. Read more.

Hanukkah 2021 has arrived, and with it a children’s film celebration! The boys ‘and girls’ film festival is coming to a five-day cinematic celebration for the whole family! Dozens of films selected from around the world especially for young and curious eyes, creative workshops that invite a first and guided experience in filmmaking, activities for the little ones, and a holiday atmosphere, lights and donuts. Day 5 – Thursday 2/12

PARTY – Grateful Dead Winter Party @ Abraham Hostel

It’s on, Hooray! Our ninth winter party is taking off and this time is landing at Avraham Hostel – Tel Aviv.
