We’ve finally updated our Guide to the Best Bars in Tel Aviv! We’ve gone back to the community via our new Secret Tel Aviv App, and asked you guys what are your favourite bars and restaurants in the city. The result combines some of our favourite old classic hangouts, and some cool new spots!

If Tel Aviv is a hipster capital of the world, TEDER.FM is its Mecca! Teder is a perfect hangout, it’s unpretentious and chilled, with outside tables in the middle of an old gallery, perfect to sit out with friends for hours, they broadcast good music, serve beer in jars for sharing and have an amazing pizza. 2. Bellboy Bar – Best Cocktail Bar 🍸

6. North Abraxas / Abraxas Bar – Locals’ Favourite 🔥

Just outside the top five, North Abraxas continues to be one of those places locals keep coming back to. Chef Eyal Shani’s menu changes often, but the creative approach stays the same. From one local favourite to another, Berlin in Florentin takes the title of Florentin’s best bar this year. It’s one of those places where plans tend to change — you stop by for a beer and somehow end up staying all night. 8. Whiskey Bar – Best Kosher Bar 🥃

Keeping things a little more polished, Whiskey Bar earned the title of Tel Aviv’s Best Kosher Bar. Hidden inside restored Templar tunnels beneath Sarona, the setting is worth the visit on its own. The menu goes well beyond whiskey, but if you’re here for the full experience, pair one of the smoked meat dishes with a whiskey flight and save room for the lemon dessert at the end. 9. Emesh – Where the Israeli’s Party 🇮🇱

If Whiskey Bar is all about slowing down, Emesh shifts the pace completely. It’s one of the city’s best party bars, with three different spaces that each have their own vibe. You can start with drinks in the backyard, move inside once the DJs pick up, and end the night on the dance floor without ever changing venues. A few minutes away, Herzl 16 attracts a slightly different crowd. The large courtyard filled with greenery is one of the nicest places to sit outside in the city, especially in the evening. Opa! Staying in South Tel Aviv, Ouzeria has become one of the defining restaurants around Levinsky Market. The menu is built around Mediterranean sharing plates with strong Greek influences, making it perfect for a long dinner with friends. Bicicletta takes this year’s title for Best Gastrobar. The large courtyard is what keeps people coming back, especially for afternoon drinks that usually turn into early dinner. Rova Tel Aviv is a picture of what a local wine-bar bistro looks like on Dizengoff Street – big enough to feel lively, but still friendly and easygoing. They’ve got a fairly wide menu with salads, snacks, pizzas and bigger mains like schnitzel or burger, all the sort of things you don’t feel weird pairing with wine rather than a full dinner.
