Happy Hanukkah everyone! This week we are highlighting some amazing communities run by Olim Chadashim and Internationals in Tel Aviv. They’ve all got Hanukkah events going on this week, come down, check them out, and meet some awesome people! PLASTIC FREE ISRAEL 🌍

Beach cleanup tomorrow in Jaffa

There’s nothing better than meeting amazing people and doing something good! That’s what Plastic Free Israel is all about. Started and run by amazingly inspirational women, Plastic Free Israel is the leading English-language environmental community in the country. They regularly organize cleanups and educational events, and tomorrow they are taking part in the World’s Biggest Beach Cleanup with a Beach Cleanup @ Park Medron in Jaffa. THE STAGE 🎙

Comedy sketchfest this Saturday

The Stage isn’t just Tel Aviv’s premier English-speaking performing arts community, it’s also a hub for young interationals and Olim Chadashim to meet, get inspired, and have fun. Throughout the year they put on amazing productions, workshops, meetups, and a hilarious poetry and slam series that is open to everyone to perform! This Saturday they have their First Annual Hanukkah Sketchfest @ The Prince, a merry festival of 8 original sketch comedy pieces written, acted and directed by their very own community talent. KEEP OLIM IN ISRAEL 🇮🇱

Two Hanukkah Parties this week

KeepOlim started as a Facebook Group and registered as an NGO in 2015. Run by the amazing Liami Lawrence and Tzvika Gravier they’ve helped thousands of Olim with their Group, KeepOlim Feeds Olim Food Program, Tikva for Olim Mental Health Program, No Oleh Alone for the Holidays Program, and more. Their work in mental health is vital, as well as campaigning tirelessly for Olim mental health support in the Knesset, I’ve seen first-hand Liami help people that no-one else would. They have two fun Hanukkah parties this week @ the Tel Aviv International Synagogue on Saturday (35+) and Sunday (18-35) – meet amazing people! You can also make donations here.

SAVE A CHILD’S HEART ❤️

Party with Tel Aviv’s young leadership community!

Save a Child’s Heart TLV Young Leadership team are a group of young professionals based in Tel Aviv who believe in the important work that SACH carries out. They regularly arrange fundraising and awareness events in Tel Aviv for the charity and help to support its life saving activities. This Sunday you’re invited to celebrate the last night of Hanukkah with a Candle Lighting and Hanukkah Party @ Haiku Bar – all ticket proceeds will go towards three life-saving heart procedures for children. COMMUNITY DATE NIGHT 💕

We’re back with another amazing event next Wednesday

Since we started Secret Tel Aviv in 2010, there have been quite a few couples who found each other through the Group and events we’ve organised. This is one of the best things about running this community! For a long time we’ve been searching for a solution to make this even more effective, and we are really excited about our new Secret Tel Aviv Date Night online speed-dating partnership. The first event last month was amazing – 140 people logged in and over half the people found a match (they both wanted to meet up again)! We’ve got our next event next Wednesday between 8-9pm. We’re celebrating Hanukkah here in Tel Aviv with amazing donuts… or sufganiyot in Hebrew. Two huge vintage fairs this weekend

We won! We are now officially the most expensive city to live in the world! Thank the lord for second hand markets and vintage fairs! Starting at midday today and tomorrow the Prince is hosting Vintage Me Up – A crazy fashion event with 14 vintage stores from all over the country in one dream location (pic above from Shani Marom’s collection); and tomorrow head down to Florentin for a huge vintage and second hand fair. GRATEFUL DEAD PARTY ❄️

Tonight join the Deadheads @ Abraham Hostel

Tonight Abraham Hostel are teaming up with Israel’s Grateful Dead Fan Club for a huge Winter Party! Celebrate one of America’s greatest rock bands with top DJS, Deadheads from all around the country, and all the amazing surprises that you’d expect from a party at Abraham Hostel! Sing and dance to the legendary music into the wee hours of the night, with Jerry Garcia’s other-worldly chords to Bob Weir’s lulling mouth sounds! Saturday: A huge party @ Teder!

Get down with flavorful music! On Saturday the new Color Red Records label will launch @ Teder, bringing 3 legendary performances. The Hoodna Orchestra – an 11-piece group of young musicians who took the Tel Aviv groove scene by storm with their fusion of African and Ethiopian music, Afrobeat, and Ethio-Jazz; The Flavors – a funky revival band that captures the sounds of American Blues and Soul; and special guest Eddie Roberts – guitarist for the New Mastersounds, and an integral part of today’s Funk & Soul scene! Wednesday: An explosion of music @ Kuli Alma!

On Wednesday the city’s favorite bar hosts the city’s most precious musicians – Ouzo Bazooka @ Kuli Alma! Ouzo represents everything that is beautiful in Tel Aviv: Cultural coexistence, vigorous creation, and an always happening urban scene. Drawing influences from Israel’s melting pot and exotic Middle Eastern feel, along with classic hard rock, psychedelic art, garage rock and surf – Ouzo Bazooka’s sound is a dizzying concoction of east-meets-west! Wednesday: The queen @ Barby!

One of Tel Aviv’s top music venues is hosting a legendary name this week… on Wednesday, Yasmin Mualem finally arrives @ Barby with the performance that so many have been waiting for! The queen of beats will showcase her exciting world of influences from Bob Marley to Umm Kulthum to Mozart, speaking to your emotions with her authentic voice and flood of fusion hip-hop, RnB, and pop!
