We weren’t sure whether to send an events newsletter this week… but then we thought this could be our last opportunity to party for a while! New regulations are set to begin on Sunday, but there’s loads of great stuff going on this weekend! However, covid is still present and dangerous, so please make sure you wear a mask wherever you go so that we can continue to have fun in the city we love. In other words, what would Artem do??
ANIMIX 2021
The largest animation celebration in Israel starts next Tuesday
Get animated! Celebrate beautiful and wonky creations of the most talented local and international illustrators at the International Animix Festival of Animation, Comics and Cartoons. The event kicks off next Tuesday with Asif @ Tel Aviv Cinematheque with music, mingling, pizza and beer to celebrate local animated art. Animix 2021 starts the same day and goes until next Saturday (Aug 14) with loads of cool screenings. Think you can do better? Party with a twist! Midburn is nearby, but the pre-camps are already here… Take an intergalactic journey tonight with BurnFlakes @ Art Club, and tomorrow join the Straight Friendly camp with Popik @ Phi. On Saturday the Acoustic Station hosts Tabernacle @ Hatachanah and the Hoodna Orchestra takes over Levontin 7. Communal shabbat dinners are a great way to meet new people, and this Friday night is full of them! Inspired Tel Aviv is hosting a dinner for young professionals, Chabad on the Coast is organizing dinners with special hosts, and Shevet hosts their famous vegan Kabbalat Shabbat! Kicking it off tonight, Bat Yam hosts Israel’s top bands, food and surfers at the Surf’n Music Festival on Riviera Beach; or treat yourself to cosmic festivals Meteora Rave in the Desert and Recreation Rave in the Galilee. On Friday head to the Dead Sea for an Electric Rave, and on Saturday keep it closer to home for a Wakanda Summer Haze only 10 minutes from Tel Aviv.
