We’re super excited that Plastic Free Israel have joined the Secret Tel Aviv WhatsApp Community! Started and run by amazingly inspirational women, PFI is the leading English-language environmental community in the country. They regularly organize cleanups and educational events, and it’s a great way to meet new people and do something good for the environment. PROTEST ON SATURDAY 💪
We’re back for the third week of protests on Saturday at Kaplan
The protest movement against Judicial Reform continues this Saturday at Kaplan starting at 7pm. Over 110k beautiful people protested last Saturday evening (photo by Asaf Shafir), and on Tuesday this week there was an amazing protest and strike by the tech workers warning of a threat to foreign investment if the judicial reforms are enacted. Together we can stop this! I’ll see you at Kaplan on Saturday – I’ll be waving an Israeli flag! More details here.

Amazing concerts all week!
Three of Israel’s biggest musicians have concerts tonight! Head over to the Namal for an evening full of art and culture at Festival Maximillian starring Marina Maximillian and special guests (tonight and Saturday); mizrahi pop superstar Eyal Golan performs at the Menorah Arena (tonight and Saturday); and top Israeli rapper Tuna takes over the Barby! Other big concerts this week include Eran Tzur @ Kuli Alma on Sunday (free), Yasmin Mualem @ Barby next Tuesday, and Efrat Gosh @ Barby next Wednesday. Join a star-studded cast tonight on the couch
Zaza is back with a special show at the HaGra Center in Neve Shaanan tonight. Joining her on the couch will be celebrities from across Israeli culture, including modern dancer Gal Gorfung, opera singer Eitan Drori, comedian Anali Goldberg, and composer and musician Michael John Wookey. Our favourite tech conference returns to Tel Aviv next Wednesday
The DLD Innovation Festival returns in all its glory next Wednesday! Israel’s largest hi-tech conference brings together thousands of hi-tech professionals, entrepreneurs, and investors from Israel and abroad to discuss innovation, digital media, science, and culture, and exchange ideas and networking. You can buy tickets for the main event, however there are some cool free events open for everyone, including the Rothschild Urban Happening next Thursday with dozens of meetups along Rothschild Boulevard. The West End musical returns to Tel Aviv next week
Following huge success on London’s West End and a global tour that visited Israel in 2017, the Simon and Garfunkel Story musical returns to Israel next week for three shows at the Gesher Theater in Jaffa (Monday to Wednesday). The musical tells the fascinating story of how two boys from Queens, New York, became musical legends – and includes all of your favourite songs! World famous Japanese composer and pianist comes to Tel Aviv next Tuesday
A master storyteller, acclaimed jazz pianist and composer, Keiko Matsui crafts exquisite compositions replete with lush harmonies and global rhythms to create timeless musical anthems. Her sonic cultural exchange has reached the hearts and minds of fans throughout the world and has allowed the pianist to work alongside icons Miles Davis, Stevie Wonder, Hugh Masekela and Bob James. Get involved in the Anglo community in Tel Aviv at loads of cool events
There is a large Anglo community in Tel Aviv and they are very active at organizing super-fun events. One of our favourite communities is Kerem House – this week they host a Shabbat dinner, a salsa night next Monday, and karaoke next Wednesday (keep up to date with all of Kerem House’s events by joining their WhatsApp Group). Other fun events this week include TLV Laughs standup show tonight at Hoodna Bar, Shabbat dinner with JIC TLV, Mystic Nights one year celebration on Sunday night, and auditions for The Stage’s new musical next Monday. We had an eight-course chef tasting menu at the spectacular Timna
Last week we had the pleasure of dining at Chef Nir Mesika’s chef restaurant Timna on Herzl street. Nir is a Michelin-ranked and award-winning chef in New York who returned to Tel Aviv in 2021. Back in his Israeli roots, Timna offers a four- or eight-course tasting menu, which changes every month according to the Chef’s creativity and the seasonality of all the fresh local ingredients. Every plate is a delight, combining Israeli tastes and flavours with American, European and Asian influences.
