What a week for culture! Tonight Opera in the Park returns to Park Hayarkon with Verdi’s Nabucco – One of our favorite free events of the summer! Other cool events this week include Opera in the Park in Ramat Gan on Tuesday, and some cool modern dance at the Tel Aviv Museum of Art and the Inbal Theater on Monday night. Get your GROOVE on! Tonight check out Funk Sinatra @ Cuckoo’s Nest; on Saturday funk is taking over TEDER and BuXa; there’s a cool Bint El Funk Concert @ Kuli on Sunday, and on Tuesday check out Malabi Tropical’s Uri Ida at Tuesday Groove in Jaffa (FREE).

This week there are two meetups to keep the beaches clean and free of two of the biggest sources of pollution – cigarette butts and plastic: Clean the Butts off Bograshov Beach (tonight); and on Friday another Coastal Cleanup by Plastic Free Israel (this time they are giving away cool gifts too!).

Need a break from all this Tel Aviv craziness? We have three great excuses for a weekend away! If you want to see a beautiful and rare natural phenomenon, don’t miss the Meteor Shower that will be visible from tonight until Monday (best viewed from the desert, find more info here and here). Or join the Hot Air Balloon Festival in the Negev or a crazy Nature Party @ Mikhmoret.
