YOM HAZIKARON
Tuesday evening and Wednesday Day: Israel’s saddest day

Yom HaZikaron is the day we commemorate those who have fallen for our country, both soldiers and in terrorist attacks. There’s the annual big moving ceremony at Rabin Square ; and an Israeli-Palestinian joint ceremony at Park Hayarkon to remember the victims of both sides. All shops, bars and restaurants are closed on Tuesday night, remember to stock up with food before.

YOM HAATZMAUT
Wednesday night: Happy Bday Israel! Yalla the balagan!

Wednesday and Thursday is Yom Haatzmaut (Israeli Independence Day),  probably the largest party in Israel. Clubs, bars, event halls, everyone is planning a Yom Haatzmaut party! And there are all kinds – From big productions and street parties, parties in local bars, roof parties (our favorites), and Midburn parties. Check out our Yom Haatzmaut Party Guide for more!

IAF FLYOVER
Thursday: The Bday party continues with BBQs and flyover

The traditional way of celebrating Yom Haatzmaut is a large bbq with friends and family on the day of Yom Haatzmaut… what an amazing tradition! We recommend getting up early to get your meat – Check out our best butcher’s guide for your closest good butcher. Also on Thursday is the annual IAF Flyover around 1pm (check times) and lots of parties – check our Yom Haatzmaut Guide! Picture by Gabi Berger, see more of her amazing photos on her website and facebook page.
