In 2013, Garger HaZahav was established in the heart of the rejuvenated Levinski market. The idea was born when Hadar Tzur, a chef and hummus enthusiast, approached Tom Wiseman, a hummus lover, to open a small hummus shop in the area. There was a lack of proper hummus in the eastern district of Florentine, including the Shapira neighbourhood. The two joined forces to bring the Galilean atmosphere they grew up with to south Tel Aviv. The result is a small, affordable hummus restaurant that serves a variety of hummus dishes, salads, toppings, and daily specials in a peaceful atmosphere.
