Israel Writers Studio–a home for creative writers in English–offers ongoing classes, one-day workshops, one-on-one mentoring and community

1. What’s Your Story? Creative Writing at The Museum of the Jewish People at Beit Hatfutsot
Jennifer Lang will take you on a journey, using the museum’s permanent and temporary collections, to write about roots and religion, family trees and traditions, language and lost communities. Open to all levels and genres.
When: Meets one Monday/month from 17:00 – 19:00, starting November 26

2. Nothing to Write About: Finding Inspiration in Writer’s Block with Hila Ratzabi on Thursday, November 15 from 10:30 – 14:30
Every writer experiences writer’s block at some point, even the most prolific. It is easy to imagine that we must have dramatic lives in order to tell interesting stories. Or sometimes we do have dramatic lives but imagine that our story has been told before. Regardless of why we have become stuck in our writing, it is possible to return to the simple joy of putting words on the page. We can even invite our demons to the table, by using writer’s block as a source of inspiration. Open to all genres, all levels. Details and registrations here.

3. Israel Writers Studio in Raanana
This group combines writing prompts and workshopping, generating new material and critiquing each other’s work. Each week will include  writing exercises, sharing aloud, and discussing craft. Open to all levels and genres.
When: Wednesday mornings from 11:00 – 13:00 on December 12, January 2 and 23, February 6 and 27, March 13 and 27.

4. Just Write! in Tel Aviv
A monthly prompt-based class to generate new material and get you writing on a more regular basis. Open to all genres, all levels.
When: Wednesdays from November 14, December 12, January 9, February 13, March 13, April 10, May 15.

Cost: 840nis with a minimum of 6 people
First meeting: LINK hotel at 39, Sderot Sha’ul HaMelech Street in downstairs open space.
