- In September of 2008, Red Hat acquired an Israeli start-up named Qumranet and transformed it into an R&D center, working entirely according to the Open Source model.
- The Red Hat R&D center in Ra’anana numbers nearly 230 employees and is a central pillar in the development of the company’s Cloud Solutions, focusing mainly on the development around Virtualization and OpenStack Platforms as well as Openshift which is the Kubernetes Containers solution from Red Hat.
