Tel Aviv’s thriving street food scene has a new home!

Located in the sparkling new Fashion Mall, Urban Zone TLV has 8 food stands with delicious street food from all over the world. It’s young, urban, cheap, and un-pretentious – quite a contrast to the Fashion Mall!

Here are some of the options that we tried:

Bunny Chow – South Africa

I’ve loved these guys since I first tasted the Bunny Chow in Shuk HaCarmel. Inspired by Indian South African street food, there are three options of delicious curry served in a tasty sweet challah. They also have a boerewors hot-dog for the adventurous!

Dosa – Indian

Authentic Indian dosa freshly made in front of your eyes. We went for the masala – the pancake was perfect and the filling was delicious – they also have cheese and chocolate options.

Hong Kong Puffs

I’ll be honest, this reminds me more of a Belgian Waffle than something I would imagine served on a Hong Kong sidestreet – but who cares, it was fantastic. We went for the salty option of cheese and pepperoni topped with rocket. They also have sweet options for dessert!

Captain Greek Kitchen

We tried these at the last World Food Market – and again we were not disappointed. Tasty meat served in a gyro pita, served with either tzatziki or tehina. Yummy!

We are trying these places next time…

Yatai – Japanese

Home to the ramen burger – the queue was huge so we agreed to try next time. Everyone that we saw eating it looked pretty happy!

Colombia

It looked delicious, but again there was a big queue. It’s the Colombian version of the hugely popular Arepas – a corn bread filled with meat.

Rim Tang – Thailand

Thai inspired dim sum coming in lots of different shapes and sizes. Definitely one for next time!

Nola American Bakery

Round off your evening with a delicious ice-cream or cake from the Nola American Bakery.

Urban Zone TLV is open Wednesday to Saturday for the next 4 months – and maybe beyond… we hope so!
