Saluf and Sons

This new restaurant in Levinsky Market, opened by the son of the owner of the famous Saluf bakery in Shuk HaTikva, provides a modernisation of traditional Yemenite food. They serve all the classics like meaty soups, creamy hummus, fluffy melawach, and other Yemenite baked goods. Their jachnun is superb.

The atmosphere is based on the Israeli idea of ‘chamara’ whereby people sit whilst eating and drinking for hours. They create a communal atmosphere with the large centred table where different parties dine next to each other. The waiters are more than friendly and they serve arak shots to customers, on the house, all day.

The prices are incredibly fair, and if that wasn’t enough, they offer 50% off most of the menu between 17:00-19:00 every week day.
