Looking for a little bit of Paris in Tel Aviv? Nina Cafe sits on everybody’s favorite boulevard in Neve Tzedek, one brimming with haute couture and tony shops. Nina is the place to lay down your shopping bags, get off your feet, and beat the summer heat by sipping an ice latte, lemonade, or other refreshing boisson. Warning: If you choose to do so at one of the cafe’s Parisian-like sidewalk tables, you may quickly become part of the scenery, and find that you serve as background to countless Instagram photos taken of this desirable thoroughfare!

Of course the longer you sit watching the world pass by in a fusion of foreign tongues, the more you’ll want to stay and order food. Fortunately Nina offers an excellent and eclectic menu of hot and cold dishes to enjoy for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. The beautifully presented sandwiches and salads are filling but not too heavy, and make an accompagnement parfait for coffee-sipping and people-watching during the daylight hours. For the discerning customer: the beans are Cafe Mauro. Note also that Nina offers a wine and cocktail list should you decide to stay for dinner.

Enjoy practicing your French (or at least listening) as your fellow espresso-drinker at the next table is as likely to be speaking francais as he is Hebrew, such is the francophonic character of the neighborhood. If you like, you can of course pretend you are really sitting at a sophisticated Parisian cafe. But why? When the beautiful and ultra-chic setting of Neve Tzedek lies before you. It would be difficult to improve on the scene! Oh la la!
