La Otra

La Otra

It’s obviously no surprise that the owners of Imperial Cocktail Bar, 223 and Bellboy have smashed it yet again. This new spot is the cheekiest little sister to the other three- the food menu is as far from conventional as can be, and the alcohol list is extensive and unique.

The ‘Chicken Mole’ (58 NIS), a chicken breast and wing laid on a bed of spicy chocolate is unbelievable; the phrase “don’t knock it ’til you try it”definitely comes to mind. Other highlights include the ‘White Fish Ceviche’ on watermelon, the ‘Duck Taco’, and the ‘Guacamole’ served with plantain chips. This menu is for the culinary daredevils amongst you- we trust that you guys are up for the challenge!

Now, on to the drinks. The Mescal was a matter of dispute on our table but it just came down to a matter of taste. It’s very smokey and dominates the flavour of the cocktails it is in. If you like that, ‘Tommy’s Smokey Margarita’ is for you. We also requested some old classics from the bar which were made to perfection. For the big drinkers amongst you- the ‘Kalingo Old Fashioned’ is made with 4 different rums and has great flavour.

This spot has much more of a restauranty feel to it than it’s older siblings. It’s the perfect choice for anyone after a girls night out or lively date night.

Warning: Don’t drive and be prepared to stumble out.
