Aubergine

Aubergine

It’s no surprise that the gorgeous David Intercontinental is home to this top-class Kosher restaurant. We were really surprised by the high standard of the service and decor.

The restaurant is furnished in a sophisticated and elegant way that you don’t come across often in Israel. The service is first class, to the extent where you feel as though you’re on holiday. To top it all off, the atmosphere still manages to be light and unpretentious.

Chef Alon Hirtenstem explained that they revolve their menu around the concept of ‘Health and Harmony’. He said “we use fresh and nutritious ingredients that are healthy, good for the brain, and of course, that taste good.” Indeed, the quinoa salad (35 NIS) and endive salad (35 NIS) were really excellent, both dressed with mouthwatering sauces. For main courses, we most enjoyed the lamb chops on polenta (120 NIS) and the veal chop with truffle mashed potatoes (185 NIS).

If you’re after a Kosher meal with a 5-star dining experience, don’t look any further.
