The Avener is the alias of Tristan Casara, a native of the Southern French city of Nice. At 29, The Avener has made a name for himself as a star DJ at a series of outstanding clubs and as a brilliant producer and remixer, especially since the success of his track Fade Out Lines.
His rework of that song by Phoebe Killdeer & The Short Straws went quadruple diamond as an export single. His first album, The Wanderings of the Avener, become double platinum in France and double platinum in the rest of the world.
In 2014, Fade Out Lines (the track that clocked up forty million views on YouTube) was a huge success, reaching number one in the iTunes charts of twenty different countries – especially Germany, where no French artist had ever hit the top spot before!
The Avener’s music is high in emotion: the antithesis of a certain chilly electronic music that no longer interests Tristan today. His full, sensual sound is a take on the deep house produced by his US counterparts – the music he has loved since his teenage years.
Heir to the French Touch, but escaping its codes by rewriting the rules, The Avener makes a point of ignoring trends. On stage, he performs tracks such as Fade Out Lines with no machines – simply backed by two guitarists, two percussionists and the Australian singer Phoebe Killdeer.
